2.0─ A Simple Idea for a Troubled World
Dear friends, As the WPMP moves forward new opportunities to describe and clarify the work better, become available and timely. The following is one of those opportunities. My new installation work of art 2.0─ A Simple Idea for a Troubled World, adds new and direct relevance to the global scale and importance of Worldwide Peace Marker Project as an aesthetic model of a new cultural strategy or dimension of human consciousness. In the short term this work may provide the starting point for a constructive dialog regarding the ideas presented within. For the long term, the work projects the kind of social environments where a new conception of world peace may be created and nourished. A version of this work translated in Turkish was premiered in Istanbul Turkey in 2007 during the joint exhibit by Ambassador Nurcan Turkoglu and me, at the Ataturk cultural Center. I will sincerely appreciate your investment of time and effort to peruse the new work and I will also welcome your thoughts and comments. visits Istanbul
On November 1, 2007, I had the opportunity to address the 13th Annual Call to World Peace Conference hosted by the Universal Brotherhood and the very wonderful V. Bulent Chorak, who presides over the brotherhood. I addressed the more than 2000 friends attending the conference and shared the stage with the chairman of the panel Dr. Ahmet Kurtaran, Dr. Alan Berkowitz Ph.D. in Phychology and founder of The Report on Social Norms, Katharine Roske a social pioneer ─ holistic educator co-founder of the hummingbird Community and Vera Monique Willis (Silver Star) a Cherokee-Lakota spiritual keeper and educator. The Experience in Istanbul was a pivotal point in the development of our WPMP Expedition to world peace. The reception to WPMP by those attending the 13th Annual Call to World Peace Conference confirmed the validity of WPMP as a work of art pioneering a new role for art in the formation of a new cultural strategy for humanity. A collection of photographs by our WPMP Correspondent Brent Scheneman tell the story of the event. http://www.flickr.com/photos/peacecorrespondent/sets/72157603010583368/
The gracious patronage of the Universal Brotherhood and the love and attention from WPMP Ambassador Nurcan Turkoglu whose efforts in organizing our joint exhibit at the Ataturk Cultural Center became such a great success, as reflected by the attendance numbers and the reception to our works being exhibited. Nurcan is a powerful painter whose work embraces a commitment to create images that convey our connection with the universe and the energies that manifest through us the still largely unexplored realm of universal consciousness.

During the visit to Istanbul, I had the opportunity to visit Freedom Park, where Peace Marker Turkey was added to the context of that beautiful park and its sculptural collection.
