World Peace begins with making peace with the world, where else would you begin?

The Worldwide Peace Marker
Project (WPMP
for short) is a work of art, more precisely it is an installation work of
art in progress since 2002. The Project is a collaborative effort that is created as follows: Each of the 198 nations on Earth that are recognized as sovereign states is assigned one “Peace Marker” sculpture (see one HERE) which is received by an artist native of each nation who, in the capacity of Artist Ambassador of the project, introduces the Peace Marker sculpture into the national context of his/her nation as a ”point of peace.” Therefore, each point of peace by virtue of being just a ”point of peace” allows the fundamental idea of peace to exist and to reside within the geographical, social, political, religious and cultural framework of each nation. Furthermore, as we realize that the same expression is true with the 197 other nations, then we arrive at a whole new dialog regarding the idea of world peace and about the new role of art in civilization, because, the work of art is allowing us to experience an aesthetic model of world peace that is created at the same scale as the world itself so that we know that world peace can exist. The installation work of art was called Worldwide Peace Marker Project, because it marks a moment in human history when art went global for the first time, in an attempt to create an example of a global collaborative effort by humanity to address global issues. WPMP is a new adventure for the human spirit. As we search together for the best
path forward for us as a species and for our world as the provider for all life,
we are all artists in a way. Our model of world peace is a work of art that we
can do together while there is time. I sincerely invite you to discover and to participate in this project. You may be a part of the global team that scores the first victory for world peace in the entire history of our species, just by helping us build the first planet-sized model of world peace. Here is how |
